"Idol" Chit Chat: The Twelve Boys

CapturegThis is "American Idol!" Chit Chat!

See, this is how much I try to satisfy my readers.  Last year I didn't start covering "American Idol" until The Final Twelve.  This year I'm giving you two more weeks of pithy commentary.

This new crop looks like they have potential, but I already miss my baby Blake Lewis.

Anyway, it's Sixties Night!

The Best Of The Night Aussie Michael Johns.  For me, Michael is the Barack Obama of the competition:  the frontrunner, but can be overtaken if he stumbles in the next couple of weeks.  Michael sang, "Light My Fire," and though the singing wasn't always the most solid, the performance was mature and professional and I wanted to hear more.  Randy compared him to Michael Hutchence, Paula liked him and Simon thought he has "the natural charisma of a lead singer."

Most Overrated Of The Night:  David Archuleta.  His "Shop Around" was okay, but not as great as the judges thought.

Most Frightening:  David Cook's lips, Danny Noriega's hair

Most Likely To Put A Room To Sleep:  Jason Yeager.  Really, "Moon River?"  I don't think so.

The Worst Of the Night:  Colton "I think I'm the next Clay Aiken" Berry, Garrett "I need a haircut" Haley, Luke "I don't know what I'm doing here" Menard.

Most Refreshing:  Jason Castro.  With the dreads, the pretty eyes and the easy voice, he's an original.  I'm ready to hear more.

Jacket Most Likely To Be Seen From Space: Chikezie's burnt orange number.

Most Likely To Form A Three Dog Night Cover Band:  Robbie Carrico

Most Forgettable
:  David Hernandez

Predictions:

Who Should Go Home: Luke Menard and Garrett Haley

Who Will Go Home: Luke Menard and Chikezie
