Master P Stands Up

According to this item at eonline.com, Master P and his son the former li'l Romeo are starting a new record label called Take A Stand Records.

As Eonline reports:

"The label will only represent artists who have pledged to be role models for the music industry through clean lyrics and positive moral values. "I have profited millions of dollars through explicit rap lyrics, Master P said in a statement. "I can honestly say that I was once part of the problem and now it's time to be part of the solution."

I suppose better late than never.  If Master P is serious, good for him.

A couple of weeks ago Russell Simmons proposed a ban on the words "ho," "bitch" and "N*gger" in rap and hip hop lyrics.

Is that the sound of the music money machine doing an about-face?  Let's hope so.
